His high school teachers didn't believe him (they probably didn't have a clue) so he sent it to a university. They had a different opinion. I'm hoping he has a nice shiny scholarship waiting for him. The teen wants to be a mathematics or Physics researcher and is concerned about his English and social studies. I'm rooting for him.

In all honesty, I don't have a clue. I was just impressed a 16 yo had solved a puzzle that old when mathematicians had been unable to. Here is a link to wikipedia explaining what it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernoulli_numbers . I actually don't understand it, so I can't explain it.
