Default Have you used the new search engine, Cuil?

Last week, some former Google employees launched Cuil, a new search engine that is supposed to compete with Google.
I played with it and wasn't too pleased with my search results.
You can test it for yourself at cuil.com.

Yeah, I saw it crawling my site about a year ago, but I went to see it finally launched and it isn't that great.

the search results are NOT relevant. i don't care if they have 1 billion dollars in investment money, the search results have to be relevant. If you search for some companies by their exact name many times their site does not come up. It is still very early, but I was not impressed so far.

I tried Cuil and it was not cool at all. I searched for a word and got no results. A friend searched for his name and found a picture of a flesh wound next to his blog.

The layout is too busy for me. I like Google over yahoo and msn because the results are displayed in a simple and very uncluttered design. Cuil has way too much going on.

It seems to have gotten a bit faster and a few of the spam results have been removed, but it still needs lots of work.

It still is terrible IMO. I tried to search for exact names of forums and businesses and it does not pull up anything even close to it. How can it not have indexed exact company sites? It should be getting better, not still missing so many big sites.

Bunch of ads as results, and a no relevant search results. absolutely sucks.

it is still incredible to me how much press the launch of this search engine got months ago and how little has been done since then to improve its search results that are still seriously lacking.

I also love how all new search engines are trying to be the next google and all new mp3 players are trying to be the ipod killers. Maybe they'd be more successful if they did their own thing.
